Colloquium Science of the Senses
30 August to 1 September 2024 (German only) - By invitation
At our last conference on the senses at the end of March 2024, we focused on the upper senses, as they are particularly at risk in the digital age. However, they allow a better understanding of how the senses work in the first place. In this context, the sense of 'I' can be understood as the 'primal type' of the senses. However, this requires us to fully understand its effects. Therefore, at the next meeting we want to go into more detail about the basic pattern of each sense, based on the understanding of the I-experience from Chapter VI in “Anthroposophy (A Fragment)”. The thesis is that each sense has a basic gesture that describes how the 'I' relates to the objects of the senses in the physical world. We do not want to pursue the different senses as such, but rather, we suggest, the question of how the 'I' comes to an experience of itself through the senses.
